Course Description

This course provides an overview of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and the operation of the Hospital Command Centre (HCC) during emergencies.

The Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) is an incident management system and a standardized management framework used in healthcare settings to manage emergencies and incidents. It establishes a clear chain of command, efficient communication channels, and standardized procedures for resource allocation and incident response. It can be used by any hospital regardless of size or type to manage emergency and non-emergency events.
